Comments: My Grandfather, Malcolm John Hogarth, died last year and I'm interested in our family tree. He was born in Tumby Bay on the Eyre Peninsula of SA. I know he was one of about 13. Comments: I have an Ann Hoggarth my g-g-g grandmother. She died in 1814 in Egton. I have no birth dates or parent's names.

She married Richard Lyth and had son Phillip (1804-1882).

Phillip married Elizabeth Elwick (1812-1881) and they had Thomas Lyth (1853-1927). He married Agnes Harrison (1856-1948) and they had a daughter, Anne, who married Edward Pearson. They had Marjorie in 1911, in Grosmont, who was my mother.

Any information on Ann Hoggarth would be wonderful.

Comments: I have always been curious as to where my family was from. I am Jamaican and know only a few other Jamaicans by the name of Hogarth (or some similar variation) and I would love to find out who it came from. Comments: I have been here before, you know. It was a while ago. Daughter had me read Green Eggs and Ham, (as Dr. Suess was her fave author at 2) at least a hundred times. I just could not say no to her, not then, not now. But now she wanted me to do genealogy, and all that I could remember was I do NOT like Green Eggs and Ham, and I do not like genealogy, SAM I AM! But there I was, I had internet, she not. Over time I saw names, names that I had thought about before, and then, a name I remembered well.

It was 1948 and I was 8 when I met her, she so ancient, so tall, so regal. She brought with her, off of the ship, a rolled oats tub filled to the brim with ginger snaps. We had tea in THE WHITE LUNCH in Vancouver, BC., Canada, and ginger snaps were too spicy for my mouth, but I wanted to impress. Her name was Great Great Auntie Mercy. Thankyou, Bryan Hoggarth, you helped me to find her, and her Great Granddaughter as well, some time later! It has been a slice, and now I like Green Eggs and Ham, and I like Genealogy too, SAM I AM. Thankyou so much, Bryan Hoggarth!

PS. If you meet Auntie Mercy's Grandmother, will you send her to me? lol.
