These pages are designed to be viewed at a resolution of at least 800x600, with a normal sized font, using a Java-enabled browser such as Explorer or Firefox.  If nothing happens when you click [ here ] it may be that you're running some over-enthusiastic ad-blocking software, or perhaps don't have Javascripting enabled in your browser's preferences.  If that is the case, then you literally don't know what you're missing.  It is further recommended that 'Comic Sans MS' be present in your 'Fonts' directory.  Otherwise, if everything appears to work fine and looks fairly spiffy, there is absolutely no need to read this first paragraph.

The HTML code, from which these pages are constructed, is generally hand-written using only MS Notepad.  Although this a relatively slow process, it is one which will often allow pages to load more quickly than those written with a web-authoring package.

For all graphic tricks with text, like the site name in the top frame and the cute spinning 'H' over there on the left, the marvelous Xara3D is used to effortlessly accomplish these nifty effects in just a couple of minutes.  Easy peasey!

Since 1999, this site has been hosted by NDO, who have also provided my broadband connection for a few years now.  Additional applications and services are provided by the following free ASP's, who, in my opinion, can also be regarded as being among the very best.

Hogarth Gazette - provided by YourWebApps.com
Counter and Stats - provided by StatCounter
The Guestbook - provided by Someone Else, Soon!
Search Engine - powered by Atomz

Because this website is entirely non-commercial, i.e. not funded by ads, etc., the companies who provide us with these essential free services are gratefully acknowledged here.  Please note that the only banners in use on our site are those of the sponsors of the free applications we use.  Domain renewals, seperate webspace for our growing BMD collection and the annual lease on our Noticeboard discussion forum are all financed out of my own pocket.

Ok, now you know how everything works, please tell me when you find something that's broken in order that I can investigate and fix it.  For example, links to pages on other websites can break when those pages change.  So if you should happen to spot a glitch before I do, please let me know and save me from any further embarrassment would you?

I sincerely hope you will enjoy your time spent wandering through these ruins and that you will return frequently, to discover what else is being unearthed. Maybe, even bringing with you the odd treasure to share with others.  Remember, one man's trivia is another man's breakthrough!
